Imaging Sciences: I can’t wait!
Yes, I am proud to say that I survived six months of clinical clerkships, including Medicine, a heavy hitter. I appreciate clinical medicine for what it is, but good golly, I am glad to be in graduate school! I am in Bioengineering, focusing on biomedical imaging via the HHMI-NIBIB Interfaces program. Doesn’t it sound awesome? Well, that’s cuz it is ;)
Fall: first term as G1
Grad school is a lot more work than I thought it would be. I try to keep fun times high on the priority list, though =) Plus, sometimes the school administrators want you to have fun! Case in point: Andrew Maidment, one of the directors of the HHMI-NIBIB program, had tickets to a preseason Flyers-Red Wings game, so Erin and I went. Who doesn’t love a hockey game?
For Halloween this year, Chris suggested we be pirates. Since my Hello Kitty sewing machine has been collecting dust, I offered to bust it out and make us some snazzy pirate garb. The toughest piecs was Chris’s blouse (which he prefers to call the less emasculating term “jerkin”). We caught up with my friend Allison and went out to a few bars in Center City, keeping an eye on Game 3 of the World Series as well. No comment there. The next morning, we went to brunch in costume — me quite happily, Chris not so much =p Love is dressing up in a silly costume so your mate doesn’t feel alone, I guess.
