Imaging Sciences: I can’t wait!
Yes, I am proud to say that I survived six months of clinical clerkships, including Medicine, a heavy hitter. I appreciate clinical medicine for what it is, but good golly, I am glad to be in graduate school! I am in Bioengineering, focusing on biomedical imaging via the HHMI-NIBIB Interfaces program. Doesn’t it sound awesome? Well, that’s cuz it is ;)
Long Beach Island, NJ
This summer, I finally visited what Northeastern peeps call “the shore.” I am spoiled by having grown up minutes from beautiful south Florida beaches. During college I had visited a few rocky beaches along the Connecticut coast, so I was pretty dubious about this shore business. Happily, I need not have been concerned. Long Beach Island is peaceful, idyllic and desiring of nothing more. I revisit my childhood when I’m there.
I owe all this beachness and my awesome tan to Chris, the guy i started dating this summer. His family is warm, fun and full of laughs! They are incredibly generous toward me, having fed and housed me the past several weekends. Also part of the family are two golden retrievers, Henry (Chris’s dog) and Hailey (Henry’s “cousin”). I used to be quite apprehensive around dogs, but these pups are so friendly and smart that I have taken to them. They are endearing. Chris is, too, I suppose =p No, really, he is very sweet and I’m not sure why he continues to put up with me and my heckling. Unfortunately he is camera-shy, else I would have more pictures of his studliness.
