Spoof 2006

Every year, the Penn Med student body puts on Spoof, a comedy show about med school where we have a good time laughing at ourselves. No aspect is safe from mockery, from the administration to fellow students to the socialization process of medicine that all must undergo to function in the culture of the healthcare world. The show often includes parodies of popular songs (Gold Digger, My Humps) and reinvention of well-known stories (Island of Dr. Moreau, Macbeth).

Coffeehouse

More creative expressions from Penn Med: Arie doing his Bob Dylan thing, Gbenga doing his hip hop thing, Matt and his West African drum group. Kathleen, Tony, Lisa, and I were the opening act, with an obnoxious little show tune called "My New Philosophy" (my idea, of course - the others were great to let me live out a secret childhood wish =p).

A post-exam lunch at Pod

Sometimes after a big test, a group of us will treat ourselves to a nice lunch (or drink, as necessary...Jenn...). At Pod, a trendy Japanese place, we sat in the special booth with colored buttons on the wall that control the color of lighting in the booth - fun! Apparently the faculty also like the place - we were amused to find Dr. Lanken and other important-looking persons, snazzily dressed, looking very important, and pretending not to notice us as best they could. And gotta love my anatomy girls, Kristin, Jenn, and Julia =)

Moments of fun =)

A random assortment, kinda like jelly bellies: checking out restaurants, birthdays, hitting dance clubs, Terry and Gina's engagement party (oh my!), and no occasion in particular.
